Absa Bank Kenya and Visa Unveil Kenya’s First Metal Infinite Card: A Leap into Luxury and Innovation

Absa Bank Kenya, in collaboration with global payments leader Visa, has recently launched Kenya’s first metal Infinite Card, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of premium banking solutions in the country. This exclusive card introduces a new level of sophistication and functionality, setting a new standard for affluent banking experiences.

A New Era of Affluence

The Absa Visa Infinite Card represents a fusion of high-end design and cutting-edge functionality. Crafted from metal, this card stands out from the traditional plastic options, offering not only durability but also a touch of elegance. This innovative product is designed to cater to the needs of the affluent, providing a range of benefits that enhance the cardholder’s lifestyle and travel experiences.

One of the standout features of the Absa Visa Infinite Card is its comprehensive travel perks. Cardholders are granted unlimited access to over 1,200 airport lounges and 900 hotels worldwide, ensuring comfort and convenience during their journeys. The card also includes 24-hour concierge services, offering assistance with a variety of needs, from booking reservations to securing exclusive event access.

In terms of travel insurance, the card offers extensive coverage with a limit of $2.5 million (approximately Ksh.322 million), tripling the standard amount offered by other cards. This enhanced protection provides peace of mind for travelers, knowing they are well-covered in case of unforeseen events.

Additionally, the card improves buyer protection, doubling the coverage limit from $10,000 to $20,000 (Ksh.1.3 million to Ksh.2.6 million). This increase ensures that high-value purchases are protected against loss or damage, further enhancing the card’s appeal. Cardholders will also enjoy a 1.5% reward on both local and international purchases, adding to the card’s allure as a tool for maximizing rewards on spending.

A Commitment to Excellence

At the card’s launch, Abdi Mohamed, Managing Director of Absa Bank Kenya, emphasized the bank’s dedication to meeting diverse customer needs. “Today, more than ever, customers and businesses demand flexibility, efficiency, and personalization in how they transact,” Mohamed stated. “Through our partnership with Visa, the Absa Visa Infinite Card strengthens our affluent portfolio by providing exclusive spending power, enhanced protection, and superior rewards.”

The metal design of the card also aligns with Absa Bank’s broader environmental goals. The bank aims to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050, and the introduction of this card is a step towards that goal. Notably, 0.05% of every on-flight ticket purchase made using the card will support tree-planting initiatives, contributing to the bank’s sustainability efforts.
