Adele, the celebrated British singer-songwriter, has announced her intention to take a substantial hiatus from music following the conclusion of her Las Vegas residency later this year. The Grammy-winning artist, known for hits like “Hello” and “Someone Like You,” revealed her plans during a recent interview with German outlet ZDF.
“I don’t have any plans for new music, at all,” Adele stated. “I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
The 36-year-old superstar, who recently finalized her divorce from ex-spouse Simon Konecki, expressed her desire to prioritize spending quality time with her sports agent partner Rich Paul and their 11-year-old son, Angelo. Adele also hinted at her interest in expanding her creative endeavors beyond music during this period.
Known for her candidness, Adele has openly discussed her struggles with anxiety, particularly when performing in front of large audiences. Despite her current focus on personal time and exploring other creative avenues, she assured her fans that when the time is right, she will return to the studio.
“I just don’t think I’m gonna write an album for quite some time,” Adele shared with her audience during her ‘Weekends With Adele’ Las Vegas residency earlier this year. However, she promised that when she does return to music, a world tour would accompany her new record.
Adele’s last studio album, “30,” released in 2021, garnered critical acclaim and solidified her status as one of the music industry’s most influential artists. As fans eagerly anticipate her eventual return to the spotlight, Adele’s decision to take a break reflects her commitment to personal growth and family priorities.
