AfDB Reveals New 10-Year Strategy, Focuses on Operational Priorities and African Development Fund’s Ambitious Goals

The African Development Bank (AfDB) recently unveiled its strategic priorities for the period 2024 to 2033 during its annual meeting in Nairobi, Kenya. This announcement comes amid heightened scrutiny for multilateral development banks to enhance efficiency and maximize their impact.

The new strategy outlines key operational focuses aimed at driving sustainable development across Africa. Additionally, the AfDB is setting ambitious targets for the 17th replenishment of the African Development Fund, reflecting its commitment to supporting transformative projects and initiatives on the continent.

The meeting in Nairobi convened stakeholders from across Africa to discuss and assess the bank’s role in advancing development agendas and addressing pressing challenges. It also provided a platform to gauge African perspectives on the reform efforts underway within multilateral development institutions.
