Siam Kubota is enhancing its digital transformation efforts by modernizing its dealer network management and internal workflows with the help of OutSystems. The Thailand-based company is using AI-powered low-code technology to integrate siloed operational systems and rapidly deploy applications to support its expanding network of 315 dealers and employees. This strategic move has enabled Siam Kubota to reduce reliance on external vendors, allowing for a more efficient and scalable approach to business operations.
The agricultural industry has seen significant digital transformation in recent years, as new technologies address long-standing challenges such as sustainable farming. However, one of the major obstacles hindering this progress is the talent shortage in digital skills. In Thailand, only about one percent of the population, or approximately 580,000 individuals, possess expertise in digital technology. This shortage has become a critical barrier for many businesses, including Siam Kubota, where a combination of retiring developers and outdated knowledge transfer methods had led to increased reliance on external vendors to manage essential systems.
As a result, Siam Kubota’s operations had become fragmented, with disparate tech stacks and applications that were expensive to maintain and lacked the agility to support changing business needs. This patchwork approach not only hindered long-term scalability but also slowed down the company’s ability to innovate and respond to market demands.
To overcome these challenges, Siam Kubota turned to OutSystems, a low-code platform, to streamline its operations and improve its digital infrastructure. By consolidating workflows and developing custom applications, the company was able to reduce its dependence on external vendors and enhance operational efficiency. The implementation of OutSystems led to the creation of several scalable applications in less than six months. Among these were the Dealer’s Award System, Billboard Management Application, Claim Management System, Promotion and Incentive (P&I) Workflow, Excellence Service Application, and Data Request Control System. These solutions have not only improved internal processes but also facilitated better interaction with dealers and customers.
The transformation has had a significant impact on Siam Kubota’s ability to adapt to evolving business needs. According to Methee Srisupundit, manager at the company’s digital technology division, the modernization of operations was essential to better support their dealer network and drive growth. By developing tailored applications and consolidating workflows, Siam Kubota has been able to reduce its reliance on external vendors while increasing internal efficiency.
One of the key benefits of adopting OutSystems is the reduction in the time it takes to process incentive payments. What previously took several months is now completed in just weeks, significantly improving operational speed and efficiency. This agility is crucial for Siam Kubota as it continues to focus on providing sustainable agricultural solutions to farmers in the region.
The adoption of low-code technology has also helped the company accelerate innovation and improve its ability to lead sustainable farming practices. By streamlining operations and eliminating bottlenecks, Siam Kubota is better positioned to respond to market demands and lead the way in agricultural technology adoption.
Looking ahead, Siam Kubota plans to further expand its use of Out Systems by migrating all its internal and external applications to the platform. Future projects will focus on enhancing supply chain operations and simplifying processes, ultimately strengthening the company’s position as a regional leader in sustainable agricultural innovation and technology adoption. Through this ongoing digital transformation, Siam Kubota is setting the stage for continued growth and innovation in the agricultural sector.
