Several nations, including India, South Africa, and Brazil, have integrated the right to food into their constitutions, recognizing food security as a fundamental human right. This has led to improved policy frameworks and strategic investments in the agricultural sector, ultimately reducing hunger and malnutrition.
The engagement sought to draw the attention of the Nigerian government to the critical role of agriculture in national development. Stakeholders emphasized the need for increased investment in modern agricultural practices, improved infrastructure, and policy reforms that support farmers and agribusinesses.
As part of the outcome, stakeholders committed to disseminating insights gained from the discussions within their respective sectors. By fostering collaboration and advocating for policy changes, the initiative aims to drive meaningful progress in ensuring food security for all Nigerians.
