The 2024/2025 coffee season’s Sale 24 took place on March 25th, 2025, at the Nairobi Coffee Exchange on the 2nd floor of Wakulima House along Haile Selassie Avenue and on online platforms. A total of 21,779 bags (50 kg each) of coffee were traded, marking a 23% decrease from the 24,206 bags traded in Sale 23 the previous week.
The average price rose slightly to USD 343 per 50 kg bag, up from USD 340 per bag in Sale 23. This translates to $6.9 per kilogram of clean coffee, Kshs 136 per kilogram of cherry gross, or Kshs 109 per kilogram to the farmer.

The highest price achieved was USD 462 per 50 kg bag, a slight decrease from the USD 521 recorded in Sale 23. Coffee from the KANGOCHO Factory/Wet Mill (Factory Code: XAC009F03), part of GIKANDA FCS in NYERI County, secured this top price.

Kirinyaga Slopes Coffee Brokerage Company Ltd emerged as the top performer with the highest volume (7,646 bags weighing 467,327 kg) and value (USD 3,454,681.74), accounting for approximately 38% of the total sales value. Their average price of USD 369.62 per 50 kg was above the overall market average, with the AA grade commanding their highest average price at USD 400.52.
Alliance Berries Limited handled the second largest volume (5,701 bags weighing 351,570 kg) with total sales of USD 2,157,494.64, though their overall average price was lower at USD 306.84 per 50 kg.
Other participating brokers included New KPCU (3,040 bags/200 lots), Minnesota Marketers (2,596 bags/119 lots), KCCEMA (1,565 bags/86 lots), Kipkelion (474 bags/27 lots), Mt. Elgon (373 bags/41 lots), CEBBA (340 bags/28 lots), and Bungoma Union with the smallest offering of 142 bags across 13 lots.
Buyer Activity
Eighteen buyers/dealers bought a total of 21,779 bags, weighing 1,340,822 kg and valued at USD 9,203,953.10.
Ibero Kenya Ltd dominated the market with 10,729 bags (49.3% of total) valued at USD 4,633,630.80, followed by Louis Dreyfus Company with 5,082 bags worth USD 1,845,801.94. The top three dealers (including C.Dorman Ltd) accounted for over 80% of the total value.
Sale 24 Buyers
There were significant changes in dealer positions compared to the previous week, with Sondhi Trading Co. Ltd moving up to fourth place and Kenyacof Limited dropping to seventh. Diamond Coffee Company appeared in the rankings while smaller dealers like Gracy Solutions Limited, Rosie Vam Dyke Company Ltd, and Rockbern Coffee Group Ltd collectively contributed less than 0.2% of the total transaction value.
