Air Canada is spreading its wings further into the United States next summer, adding three new routes from U.S. cities to its Vancouver hub. Starting in May 2025, the Canadian airline will launch direct flights between Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and three U.S. cities: Tampa, Raleigh, and Nashville. These new services are part of the airline’s broader strategy to strengthen its position as a leading carrier between Canada and the U.S., offering travelers more ways to explore both nations.
Mark Galardo, Air Canada’s Executive Vice President of Revenue and Network Planning, highlighted the significance of these new routes, emphasizing that the airline is tapping into fast-growing U.S. cities to meet increasing demand for travel between the two countries. “Our robust network means customers in Western Canada have more options to explore all that the U.S. has to offer, and for our American customers to explore beautiful British Columbia,” Galardo stated.
The new flights will operate several times a week, providing flexibility for travelers:
Vancouver to Nashville: Beginning May 1, 2025, Air Canada will operate flights between Vancouver and Nashville four times a week. This seasonal service will run until October 2025, offering music lovers and tourists alike the chance to fly directly to one of the U.S.’s most vibrant cultural hubs.
Vancouver to Tampa: Air Canada will also launch year-round service between Vancouver and Tampa on June 3, 2025. This route will operate twice a week, catering to both leisure travelers heading to Florida’s sunny shores and those traveling for business or family visits.
Vancouver to Raleigh: Starting June 4, 2025, Air Canada will connect Vancouver to Raleigh three times a week. This seasonal service will run through September 2025, giving passengers from both sides of the border easier access to North Carolina’s growing tech and business centers.
In addition to the new routes, Air Canada is ramping up capacity on its existing services between Vancouver and other U.S. cities, including Austin, Denver, and Miami. The airline will operate five weekly flights to Austin, double-daily service to Denver, and four weekly flights to Miami, enhancing travel options for those heading to popular destinations in the U.S.
Air Canada’s expansion efforts are part of its ongoing partnership with United Airlines under the Star Alliance network. This collaboration will see a total of 58 daily nonstop flights between Canada and the U.S. next summer, with 21 destinations added to the route map. This represents an 11 percent increase in service from the previous summer, underscoring the airline’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for travel between the two countries.
These new flights join several other recently announced routes, such as the service between Jacksonville, Florida, and Toronto, as well as the route between Montreal and Cincinnati. These additions reflect Air Canada’s ongoing efforts to provide more convenient and diverse travel options for both Canadian and American passengers.
Whether for business or leisure, the new routes to Tampa, Raleigh, and Nashville offer exciting new possibilities for travelers, connecting them to both Vancouver’s stunning landscapes and the vibrant cities of the U.S. With these new services, Air Canada is solidifying its role as a major player in North American aviation, ensuring more direct and seamless travel experiences for all.
