AirAsia X Launches Direct Flights Between Kuala Lumpur and Nairobi

AirAsia X (AAX) has unveiled plans to introduce direct flights connecting Nairobi, Kenya, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, starting from November 15, 2024. This route marks a significant milestone as AAX becomes Malaysia’s first low-cost carrier to offer direct connectivity to Nairobi.

The decision to expand into East Africa follows AirAsia’s recent accolades as the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline and Best Low-Cost Airline in Asia for 15 consecutive years at the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2024. The new route will not only provide direct flights but also include a convenient Fly-Thru connection, linking Kenya to over 130 destinations across Southeast Asia, Northern Asia, Central Asia, and Australia.

Kenyan travelers will benefit from visa-free travel to Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore, with visa-on-arrival options available for Indonesia, enhancing travel convenience and accessibility for passengers.
