Deputy Chief of Staff Eliud Owalo, in charge of Performance and Delivery Management in Government, has enlisted top communication and branding specialists to join the Government Delivery Unit (GDU). This strategic move aims to bolster stakeholder engagement and enhance the government’s visibility and effectiveness in delivering its mandate.
Heading the team is Dr. Carol Mandi, a celebrated Strategic Communications Advisor. Dr. Mandi boasts an impressive portfolio, having served as Advisor to the Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Communications, and Digital Economy. Her career spans roles as Publisher, Managing Editor of True Love magazine, and Sub-Editor at Nation Media Group. She holds a Doctorate from Veridian Christian University, an MBA from Stellenbosch Business School, and a Bachelor of Education from Moi University.
Branding Specialist Ms. Archie Achieng Ojany-Alai, known for her innovative marketing expertise, also joins the unit. Previously the Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Sports in Kisumu County, she has worked at global agencies like Leo Burnett and McCann Erickson. Her academic accolades include a Master’s in Advanced Marketing from Kingston University, a Leadership Postgraduate from Oxford University, and a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Nairobi.
Former KTN reporter Boniface Odinga brings his journalistic and teaching expertise, having lectured at USIU and Maseno University. He previously served as Director of Communications in Siaya County. Similarly, Patrick Amimo, a seasoned journalist and former Standard Group Bureau Chief, enhances the GDU with his extensive media experience.
Ms. Wambui Ng’ayu, an advertising and branding expert with experience at Scanad and Transcend Media, brings creativity and innovation to the team. She holds a postgraduate degree in Branding from Goldman Sachs and a Bachelor’s from Strathmore University.
Lastly, Alloyce Obare, a Product Development and Delivery Specialist, has served as a Delivery Advisor in the Ministry of Information and Chief of Staff in Siaya County. His academic background includes a Bachelor’s in Marketing and Digital Communications from London Metropolitan University.
According to Owalo, these professionals will refine government messaging, enhance project visibility, and position the administration’s initiatives as impactful and marketable products.
