Sean “Diddy” Combs, the renowned music mogul, is facing fresh allegations in a new lawsuit that claims he dangled a woman from a 17th-floor balcony during a confrontation in 2016. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles by fashion designer Bryana “Bana” Bongolan, adds to a growing list of accusations against Combs, which include multiple lawsuits alleging sexual assault, drugging, physical abuse, and threats. The lawsuit is a significant development in the ongoing legal battles surrounding the celebrity, further compounding his troubles as he is also facing federal charges in a racketeering and sex trafficking case.
According to the legal filing, the alleged incident took place at the home of Combs’ then-girlfriend, singer and actress Casandra “Cassie” Ventura. Bongolan, who had been spending the night at the apartment, describes a violent altercation that unfolded when Combs showed up uninvited and began shouting and banging on the front door. The situation escalated quickly, with Combs allegedly barging into the apartment and confronting Bongolan, who was on the balcony at the time.
The lawsuit states that Combs physically grabbed and molested Bongolan before lifting her up and dangling her over the edge of the 17th-floor balcony. Bongolan, who at the time weighed approximately 100 pounds (45.3 kg), reportedly struggled to break free from Combs’ grip. The lawsuit claims she threw her weight back in an effort to resist, fearing that Combs would throw her to the ground or even over the balcony, which could have resulted in her death. However, Combs allegedly overpowered her with ease.
Bongolan claims that it was only when Cassie Ventura intervened that Combs pulled her back inside, allegedly slamming her onto patio furniture in the process. According to the lawsuit, Bongolan is still unsure what provoked Combs’ violent behavior. She is seeking $10 million in damages, citing a history of threats, intimidation, and violence that she claims colored her professional interactions with Combs, which began when he approached her to collaborate on projects such as a clothing line and album cover art.
This lawsuit comes at a time when Combs is already embroiled in serious legal issues. He has been accused of a range of criminal acts, with some lawsuits alleging sexual assault, drugging individuals, and causing physical harm. He is also currently facing federal charges related to a sex trafficking and racketeering scheme. The new allegations made by Bongolan are reminiscent of accusations made in another lawsuit filed by Cassie Ventura in 2023, which included claims of abuse, rape, and sex trafficking. In Ventura’s lawsuit, she described a similar incident where Combs allegedly picked up one of her friends like a child and dangled her over a balcony.
Combs’ legal representatives have strongly denied all the allegations, including those made in the new lawsuit filed by Bongolan. A statement issued on his behalf firmly rejected the claims, asserting that Combs is confident the allegations will be proven baseless in court. The statement emphasized that anyone has the right to file a lawsuit, but it maintained that Combs “has unwavering faith in the facts and in the fairness of the judicial process.” The statement concluded by asserting that the truth would emerge in court, demonstrating the lack of merit in the claims against Combs.
Despite the denials, the mounting lawsuits and legal troubles have cast a shadow over Combs’ reputation. His history of controversial incidents, including allegations of abuse and intimidation, continues to fuel public scrutiny. The lawsuit filed by Bongolan is just the latest chapter in what appears to be a long and contentious legal battle for the music mogul.
In the meantime, Combs remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, after being denied bail three times. As the legal process unfolds, it remains to be seen how these latest allegations will impact his career and personal life in the coming months.
