The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a scholarship program aimed at equipping youth along the coastal corridor with technical and vocational skills. The initiative, funded through a partnership between the Government of Kenya, the German Development Bank (KfW), the European Investment Bank (EIB), and the European Union-Africa Infrastructure Trust Fund (EU-AITF), seeks to empower unemployed youth with relevant skills for gainful employment.
KeNHA Director General Kungu Dungu stated that a portion of the funds would be allocated to cover Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs for selected applicants. The remaining funds will support the ongoing Mombasa-Mariakani (A109) Highway Lot 2: Kwa Jomvu-Mariakani road project.

The scholarship will cover tuition and examination fees, material costs, and provide a monthly subsistence allowance for each beneficiary. Courses will be offered over a six-month duration at the following institutions:
- Kenya Coast National Polytechnic
- Mazeras Youth Polytechnic
- Mariakani Vocational Training Centre
The available courses include electrical installation, plumbing, masonry, carpentry, motor vehicle mechanics, welding and fabrication, hairdressing, beauty therapy, dressmaking and tailoring, refrigeration, and air conditioning, among others.
