The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has extended the deadline for applications to university, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), and Teacher Training College (TTC) programs. Originally set to close on April 21, 2025, the application portal will now remain open until April 30, 2025. The announcement was made through KUCCPS’s official social media channels, urging potential applicants to seize this opportunity.
The application process, which opened on March 28, 2025, has already seen widespread interest from students across the country. In a bid to assist applicants, KUCCPS has deployed officers at 63 universities and colleges, their offices, and 58 Huduma Centres nationwide to offer guidance and support. These measures ensure that students can easily navigate the application process and make informed decisions regarding their academic future.
Eligibility Criteria for Applicants
The eligibility criteria for this application period vary based on the academic qualifications of the applicants:
- Degree Programmes: Form Four leavers who attained a minimum mean grade of C+ in the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams are eligible to apply for degree programs at universities. Additionally, those who qualified for university admission but were previously placed in diploma programs are also encouraged to apply for degree courses.
- TVET Programmes: Form Four leavers from 2000 to 2024 who attained mean grades ranging from C to E are eligible to apply for TVET courses. These courses include Level 4 (Artisan Certificate), Level 5 (Craft Certificate), and Level 6 (Diploma) programs, which are offered in various TVET institutions across the country.
- TTC Programmes: Form Four leavers from the years 2000 to 2024 can also apply for Diploma in Teacher Education programs, which prepare them for a career in teaching.
