A violent home invasion in Orlando, Florida, left an elderly woman fighting for her life after a brutal attack by a man posing as a community service officer. The victim, the wife of a local pastor, was preparing to leave for a hair appointment when she heard a knock at her door between 10:30 and 11 a.m. on Saturday. She answered, believing someone might be in trouble.
The man at her door claimed he needed to inspect the residence, presenting a wallet with identification when she asked for proof. But as soon as she let her guard down, he forced his way inside and began attacking her. Despite her attempts to fight back, she was overpowered and left unconscious. Investigators later discovered a crystal candy jar with her hair on it, suggesting it had been used as a weapon against her.
When she regained consciousness, she found herself bleeding severely, with intense pain in her ribs and back. Without her phone in reach, she crawled to her garage, where she honked her car horn repeatedly for help. After 15 minutes with no response, she managed to drag herself back inside and lay on the couch. Hours later, her husband arrived home to find her in this condition and immediately called for help. Emergency responders rushed her to the hospital, where doctors placed her in a medically induced coma, fearing she might not survive her injuries.
