Pastor Robert Eboi, the husband of the late gospel singer Florence Roberts, has opened up about the circumstances surrounding his wife’s illness and death. In a recent interview, he addressed the growing speculation and online rumors, particularly about Florence’s health and his alleged infidelity.
Florence passed away in April 2024 after what has been described as a brief illness. Her husband has now come forward to clarify a few things. He revealed that at one point in her life, Florence had contracted HIV, a result of a traumatic incident before they met. During that period, she was also impregnated and infected with other STDs. However, according to Robert, Florence experienced a miraculous healing which set her on the path of ministry and deepened her faith.
He shared that despite her HIV diagnosis in the past, Florence underwent numerous medical tests over the years, all of which later returned negative results. He claimed that doctors were astonished by her health status, especially when the repeated tests failed to detect the virus. In total, she reportedly did 36 tests across different hospitals. Her recovery was so remarkable that doctors struggled to comprehend it, but Robert maintained that it was a testament to divine healing.
As her health began to deteriorate shortly before her passing, the couple sought answers from different medical professionals. Eventually, a diagnosis of acute kidney injury was made, although Robert noted that no postmortem was conducted. Therefore, the exact cause of her death remains undetermined.
Addressing the widespread rumors about his fidelity, Robert firmly denied any claims that he had been unfaithful to Florence during their marriage. He expressed his frustration over the false accusations circulating online and refuted the suggestion that depression or heartbreak over infidelity contributed to her death. He emphasized that Florence had faced more serious challenges in her life, including her earlier health issues, and had overcome them with strength and resilience.
Robert also opened up about the emotional toll Florence’s death had on him, saying that it was one of the most painful experiences of his life. Despite this, he has recently remarried, a move that drew mixed reactions from the public. Some criticized him for moving on so quickly, while others congratulated him on finding love again.
In videos that surfaced online, Robert and his new wife Susan were seen celebrating their wedding surrounded by loved ones. While the timing of his remarriage sparked debate, Robert has chosen not to engage with the critics and instead focus on his new chapter.
Throughout his reflections, he consistently pointed to faith and divine intervention as central elements in both Florence’s journey and his own healing process.
