Nyako has experienced a dramatic shift in her circumstances, transitioning from online fame to working as a butcher in Germany to sustain herself. Her new reality has elicited mixed reactions, with some commending her determination to find work, while others criticize her for previously showcasing a lavish lifestyle on social media.
At the height of her online success, Nyako lived comfortably in a spacious home, frequently sharing videos of herself cooking in a well-equipped kitchen. She spoke confidently about her financial success, offering advice to women and portraying herself as a model of prosperity.
A Turning Point in Her Life
Her decline began after being reported to German authorities by a fellow Kenyan, who alleged that she was living in government-subsidized housing despite claiming financial stability. The report resulted in her eviction and subsequent financial struggles.
In a recent live TikTok session, she reached out to her followers for assistance, seeking financial support to cover her rent.
“Please help me pay rent. I have been off TikTok for a few months, but I’m back. I need gifts because I have decided to provide for myself. I don’t want money from the German government,” she shared.
Shortly after, she disclosed that she was staying with a friend while attempting to rebuild her life.
“Since morning, I’ve only had tea. I just left work, and I’m starving. I don’t have my own home yet, so I stay with a friend who barely cooks. Until I move into my own place, I have to rely on fast food.”
Overcoming Challenges and Finding Employment
Faced with increasing financial pressure and public skepticism regarding her struggles, she made a significant decision—securing a job at a butchery.
“I’m working as a butcher now. I asked for rent assistance, and you saw me as useless, so I went and got a job,” she stated.
Despite often being overlooked, butchery is a physically demanding occupation. It requires handling and preparing large meat portions, maintaining strict hygiene protocols, and enduring long hours, frequently in cold environments.
Her Journey Through the Years
Nyako first gained online recognition in 2023, following a highly publicized feud with another content creator. Having relocated to Germany in 2005 at the age of 23, she initially worked as a housemaid before securing a position as a driver at the American Military School. However, her online disputes, particularly with other Europe-based Kenyan personalities, led to her losing that job.
Since then, she had been a full-time content creator, even earning an award for her influence in the Kenyan digital space in 2024.
She has also shared aspects of her personal life, including co-parenting experiences with her children’s fathers.
Now, with a newfound determination to rebuild her life, she navigates her current reality, proving resilience in the face of challenges.
