City businessman and gospel artist Karangu Muraya has found himself at the center of a highly publicized marital dispute, with his first wife, Triza Njeri, taking to social media to air her grievances. What started as an attempt to clarify rumors about his polygamous marriage has instead unraveled into a full-blown domestic controversy, capturing the attention of netizens.
The saga began when Karangu openly admitted to being in a polygamous marriage, confirming his relationship with his second wife, Carol Kim. However, this revelation did not sit well with Triza, his wife of 13 years, who has since accused him of neglect and emotional abandonment. During a viral TikTok live session, an emotional Triza detailed how Karangu allegedly left her and their two children in Gatundu South while he built a new life with Carol in Nairobi.
Her frustrations went beyond mere abandonment. She claimed that Karangu had financially prioritized Carol, gifting her a better car, phone, and even constructing a house for her, while she and their children struggled. Additionally, she alleged that Carol had disrespected her, going as far as mocking her appearance and hygiene.
In response, Carol Kim took to social media to deny these allegations, stating that she had never insulted Triza and had barely interacted with her. She also expressed distress over the cyberbullying she faced following Triza’s claims.
Meanwhile, Triza’s revelations continued, with accusations that Karangu only visited their home to take social media photos with the children but never stayed long enough to be present in their lives. She also lamented that despite being a brand ambassador for mobile phones, Karangu had refused to repair or replace her broken phone.
While Karangu has largely remained silent, he has dismissed the idea of divorce, instead proposing a family meeting to address the issue. Triza, however, rejected this, questioning why he hadn’t involved the family when marrying Carol. She made it clear that she was ready to move on, stating, “I’m only 34 years old, and I have my life to live.”
The drama has significantly affected Karangu’s public image, with supporters rallying behind Triza and raising over Sh1 million to help her start afresh. Despite the backlash, Karangu hinted at revealing his side of the story in the future, warning that people might regret insulting him.
For now, the situation remains fluid, with social media continuing to dissect every new revelation.
