Morning Kiss co-host Kerry Martin has made his intentions clear he’s single and ready to mingle. His eyes are now set on Kenyan artist Nikita Kering, despite her close friendship with rapper Lil Maina.
Speaking candidly, Kerry revealed that he currently has ample time to focus on a relationship.
“At that time I was seeing someone. Right now, I’m not seeing anybody. Nikita Kering, what’s up? You have not been claimed by Lil Maina, so I’m looking at you like you are single,” Kerry said.
His remarks come amid speculation about Nikita’s relationship status with Lil Maina, a close friend who has openly expressed admiration for the singer. However, in a previous interview with Nairobi News, Nikita firmly denied any romantic involvement with Maina, stating, “Right now, I am single and working on my music. I still have things to achieve before I can start dating.”
Lil Maina, on the other hand, has described their bond as strictly platonic, dispelling any dating rumors. Despite the friendship, Kerry appears undeterred, hoping to shoot his shot at the talented songstress.
This development comes months after Kerry had publicly declared that he was done with dating. In November 2024, the radio host hinted that he had been cheated on by his then-partner. Speaking on Morning Kiss, he revealed his frustration, stating that he was done pursuing “baddies” and was now prioritizing genuine connections.
“I already made up my mind—I’m done with baddies. I just want buddies. I have never been as angry as I was yesterday. The hard work that I put in just to please a baddie, then the baddie takes that hard work and rips it off like a piece of paper, got me angry,” he vented.
Kerry’s co-host, Kwambox, advised him that if he chooses to date a “baddie,” he should also embrace the same lifestyle. He later hinted at a “round two” of his dating woes, promising to name names, though he eventually posted on social media, saying, “I’m done talking.”
During a past segment, Kwambox asked Kerry how he would respond if someone inquired about his relationship status. He humorously responded, “If you give her the correct answer, that person is gonna stop talking to you. Everybody is talking to someone. The moment you start speaking to someone, it means kuna line ya watu wengi.”
Kerry also advised that if someone sees potential in a person, they should ghost other suitors to make their intentions clear.
As Kerry sets his sights on Nikita Kering, fans are keen to see if the award-winning singer will respond to his advances or if her focus will remain solely on her music career.
