Car dealer Khalif Kairo has taken to social media to expose what he describes as ongoing harassment and intimidation from an irate client with powerful connections. In a detailed post, he shared a conversation with a client named Faith, who allegedly vowed to make him suffer over a delayed vehicle delivery.
Kairo, who has been entangled in multiple legal battles regarding car deliveries, revealed that Faith had him arrested earlier in January and has since been leveraging her connections to push for his continued persecution. In his post, he accused an influential relative of the client of orchestrating his legal troubles despite his efforts to resolve the matter civilly.
Threatening Messages from the Client
Kairo shared a screenshot of a message from Faith, in which she warned of severe consequences if he failed to deliver her Honda Vezel by January 14. Her outlined actions included:
- Posting Kairo on a law enforcement website to alert other affected clients.
- Pushing for a high bond amount equivalent to her outstanding balance.
- Publicizing the case through media outlets to ensure widespread awareness.
She also vowed to keep the public updated on court proceedings to highlight his alleged wrongdoings.
Allegations of Power Abuse
In his post, Kairo expressed frustration that vehicle delivery disputes, which should be handled as civil matters, were instead being treated as criminal cases. He emphasized that he was not a criminal but a businessman struggling to navigate economic difficulties.
Kairo maintained that delays in car delivery are civil matters that should be resolved in court, and he has been making every effort to address them. However, he argued that the actions taken against him illustrate how those with connections can manipulate the legal system.
Claims of Harassment and Unfair Treatment
According to Kairo, Faith was present during his January arrest and even recorded a video of him being assaulted by an officer. When he was arrested again recently, she was allegedly at the police station directing officers and ensuring that he was taken into custody.
He further alleged that Faith had been contacting other clients and inciting them to bring criminal cases against him, boasting about her powerful uncle. However, most clients declined to pursue criminal charges and instead opted for a more understanding approach.
Following his January arrest, Kairo posted a KSh 2 million bail and requested the court to consolidate all pending cases. However, during his latest arrest, officers reportedly refused to take him back to the Milimani Court for plea-taking. Instead, they transferred him to another court in an apparent attempt to increase his bail or have him remanded in jail.
Business Fallout and Constitutional Appeal
The repeated arrests have severely impacted Kairo’s business, forcing him to close his offices and lay off employees, which in turn has delayed vehicle deliveries for other customers. His legal team has since filed a constitutional appeal to review the criminal proceedings against him.
Kairo insists that such disputes should be settled in civil courts rather than allowing powerful individuals to use the justice system as a weapon. He reiterated his commitment to fulfilling orders and issuing refunds where necessary but expressed frustration over the continuous police harassment, which has affected his ability to operate smoothly.
He urged any dissatisfied clients to file cases through appropriate legal channels and stated that he was prepared to face all legal matters directly. However, he stressed that each arrest eroded confidence among banks and investors, further complicating his ability to resolve outstanding issues.
Despite the challenges, Kairo remains determined to seek justice and continue running his business, hopeful that legal processes will eventually provide a fair resolution.
