Rapper KRG The Don is making a bold return after a noticeable break from social media—and he’s coming back with major plans for the future. Known for his high-energy persona and hit track Mambo Yamechemka, KRG is now setting his sights beyond music, revealing aspirations to enter the political arena by 2027.
He expressed his intention to run for a Member of Parliament seat in the next general elections. Though he hasn’t officially launched his political journey, he says he’s been preparing behind the scenes.
“I want to run for MP, but I haven’t started active politics just yet,” he said. “Politics takes a lot of stamina. You need to be in touch with the people and understand their struggles. Before jumping in, you need real solutions. I’ve been learning, observing, and now, I feel ready.”
KRG described himself as naturally driven, with a track record of turning big dreams into reality. Having built a successful career in entertainment, he now wants to channel that ambition into public service.
He also addressed speculation surrounding his recent social media silence. Many fans assumed he may have been struggling with personal issues, but he dismissed those claims.
“I’m fine—just busy with other things. I’ve been focusing on business and spending time with my kids. Fans have been asking where I went, but I’ve just been enjoying some peace and quiet. Things are changing now, and I’ve got a lot more music coming their way.”
In addition to music and family life, there’s been growing public interest around his links to government, especially given his rapport with President William Ruto. While there were rumors of a possible state appointment that didn’t materialize, KRG addressed the matter with maturity.
“A lot of people thought I’d get a position in government, but the president is the one who decides who’s best for what role. Maybe my name just hasn’t been called yet. But if that opportunity ever comes, I’d take it without hesitation. I know I could deliver.”
Looking ahead, he envisions a full transition into public service. In the past, he’s spoken about stepping away from his private ventures once he holds a public office.
“I want my children to take over the family businesses so I can focus completely on leadership and service.”
When asked which constituency he plans to represent, KRG remained strategic, choosing to keep that information under wraps.
“I’ll start with an MP seat, but I’m not revealing the location for now. If I say it too early, people will start flooding my phone with every issue in the area. I’m not ready to be invited to every funeral committee just yet!”
As he re-emerges into the public eye, KRG appears more focused and determined than ever—eager to take his next step, this time from the stage to the political scene. With bold ambitions and a promise of more music, fans and followers alike will be watching closely to see how this next chapter unfolds.
