Lilian Ng’ang’a, the businesswoman, author, and philanthropist, has hit back at netizens questioning her claim of dating only two men in nearly 15 years. The former Machakos First Lady, who is now married to musician and activist Juliani, turned to social media to set the record straight.
Ng’ang’a, who will turn 40 this June, made the revelation during an interview with comedian-turned-TV host Dr. Ofweneke. She candidly shared that since she was 25, she has only been romantically involved with two men. However, her statements were met with skepticism and trolling, with critics suggesting she was not being truthful.
Unwilling to let the criticism slide, Ng’ang’a took to her X account to silence the doubters, calling them a “foolish lot.” She stood firm on her claims while highlighting some of her achievements.
“How can the FACT that I’ve been with only two men since I was 25 (I am turning 40 this year) make me all the nonsensical things you call me?” she questioned.
Ng’ang’a, who has previously been linked to former Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua, asserted that she had won two elections—an accomplishment she noted many would never experience. She further stated that her public commentary is only beginning, urging critics to “stay put or ship out.”
During the interview, she also reflected on her early dating life, revealing that she has never been single. She spoke about her first love, a high school sweetheart, whom she described as supportive but ultimately insecure about her career as an air hostess. Although their relationship ended, she noted they now laugh about it.
After that relationship, she briefly dated a white man before moving on to her widely known relationship with Mutua, which thrust her into the public eye.
Ng’ang’a emphasized that she is speaking out now because people have put her in a box.
“I used to be very quiet, but now I have a son and a legacy to protect. People don’t really know who I am,” she said.
As she continues to take control of her narrative, one thing is clear—Ng’ang’a is not backing down from expressing her truth.
