Sandra Mbuvi, daughter of former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, recently returned to Kenya from the United Kingdom, where she is currently pursuing her university studies. The young influencer has been enjoying time back home, especially after receiving a warm welcome from her parents upon arrival. However, she’s also made it clear that she values her personal time and rest—especially on weekends.
Upon her return, Sandra took to her Instagram stories to post a strongly worded message aimed at people who keep calling her during hours she considers inappropriate. She noted that she is still adjusting to the time difference between the UK and Kenya and requested that people respect her preferred hours for communication.
In her post, she stated that her phone is only open for business-related calls between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays. Any calls outside of that time frame, she emphasized, should only come from family members. She was firm in her stance, warning that she will block anyone who disturbs her during her rest hours. According to her, weekends are strictly off-limits, and she uses that time to relax and recharge.
“Please, I beg—if it is business, call me from 12 pm to 6 pm. I do not pick up calls in the morning (still adjusting to Kenyan time) or after 6 pm unless it’s family. I also do not work on weekends. Imagine I will just block you if you disturb my beauty sleep,” she wrote.
Her message attracted a range of reactions online. Some people viewed her as being entitled or arrogant, interpreting her demands as a display of privilege. Others, however, defended her, saying she was simply setting healthy boundaries and maintaining her peace of mind. Some social media users even joked about the luxury of being able to pick and choose call hours, while others admired her confidence and directness.
Sandra has become known for her bold personality and unfiltered posts, which often spark lively debates online. Aside from setting boundaries around communication, she has also recently made headlines for her views on relationships. During a live session on TikTok, she candidly shared that she doesn’t find Kenyan men to be her ideal type. While she clarified that she has no problem with them, she admitted that they are not the kind of men she envisions dating.
This comment also triggered a wave of reactions, especially from Kenyan men who felt slighted by her preferences. Nonetheless, many women supported her stance, praising her for being upfront about her standards and not shying away from expressing what she wants.
In a humorous but equally bold declaration, Sandra also revealed the kind of dowry she expects from any man who wishes to marry her. She said she has never introduced a man to her father and will only do so when she finds her husband. Her dowry requirements? A whopping five lions, three helicopters, and 22 Bentleys. This extravagant list led to a mix of amusement and criticism online, with some netizens calling it unrealistic and others urging her to aim for the affluent circles in the Arab world to find someone who might just meet those demands.
Sandra’s confident persona continues to draw attention, and her unapologetic approach to life keeps her in the limelight—whether fans agree with her or not.
