Comedian and YouTuber Oga Obinna recently opened up about his ongoing fallout with fellow comedian Mulamwah. The tension between the two started after Obinna discovered he had been blocked on both Mulamwah’s and Ruth K’s social media accounts, which he claims are controlled by Mulamwah himself. This realization came as a surprise to Obinna, especially since he never considered Mulamwah an enemy and always thought they existed in different creative spaces.
Obinna explained that he only found out about the block when he tried to check if Mulamwah had arrived at his own stand-up comedy event. While his friends could view the page without issue, Obinna was unable to access it, indicating he had been blocked. Curious, he also checked Ruth K’s page and found that he was blocked there too, leading him to believe that Mulamwah manages both accounts.
The root of the conflict, according to Obinna, goes back to his professional relationship with Dem Wa Facebook. He claimed that after they started working together, he learned that Mulamwah had previously discouraged her from collaborating with him. Obinna said he was told that Mulamwah referred to him as being past his prime and irrelevant in the entertainment industry. This reportedly created stress for Dem Wa FB during their early working days.
Obinna also shared that Dem Wa FB and her manager decided to stop working with Mulamwah, claiming that he rarely paid them despite their significant contributions to various projects. They even alleged that when shooting content at Mulamwah’s place, they weren’t offered food, and payments for jobs were often withheld. Although shocked by these claims, Obinna said he chose not to publicly address them and instead continued working with Dem Wa FB on positive projects.
Despite the behind-the-scenes drama, Obinna emphasized that he has tried to remain neutral and professional. He mentioned that the blocking seemed to be connected to his work on “The Weekly Show,” but insisted that he hadn’t said anything negative about Mulamwah or his family. He added that even Dem Wa FB was merely relaying information and had not intended to escalate tensions.
In a light-hearted plea, Obinna urged Mulamwah to forgive him if he had unknowingly offended him, jokingly offering to retrieve Ruth K’s phone just to unblock himself. He reiterated that they are both comedians and that such issues could easily be resolved through a simple conversation instead of silent treatment and blocking.
As for why Mulamwah manages his ex’s accounts, it appears that the comedian considers them part of his brand. Even after their romantic relationship ended, he reportedly continued overseeing their social media because they remained signed to his management company. This arrangement, while unconventional, has become part of the larger discussion around the dynamics of personal and professional boundaries in the entertainment industry.
