Oga Obinna recently opened up about a conflict with his ex-girlfriend regarding his decision to buy a car for Dem Wa Facebook. According to him, the gesture did not sit well with his former partner, who felt that the money could have been used for more important things. Despite her objections, he went ahead and purchased the car, a Nissan March, to support Dem Wa Facebook in her career and ease her transportation struggles.
While driving to pick up his kids from school, the media personality reflected on his past relationship and shared details about some of the toxic moments he endured. He revealed that in September 2024, he had contacted his car dealer to arrange a surprise gift for Dem Wa Facebook. At the time, she frequently relied on cab services, which were costly, especially for work-related travel. He believed that providing her with a car would not only save on transportation costs but also help in building her brand.
During a conversation with his then-girlfriend, he shared his plan, expecting support. Instead, she strongly opposed the idea, arguing that the money could be allocated to more pressing matters. Her reaction caught him off guard, and to avoid further argument, he downplayed his intentions, pretending it was just a joke. However, in reality, he had already started setting aside money for the purchase.
Obinna continued sending funds to his car dealer in small amounts until he had enough to buy the car. On the day of the surprise, he left home without informing his girlfriend about his plans. When he returned, she was furious, confronting him about going against her wishes. She reprimanded him, insisting that the money could have been put to better use. In his defense, he explained that all their essential needs were covered, and he had not taken away from any important financial commitments to make the purchase.
He expressed that, as a creative, he often had visions and ideas that were difficult for others to understand. This incident was one of many where his perspective on investments clashed with his ex-partner’s views. In addition to gifting the car, Obinna also mentioned that he had taken steps to support young girls in need, emphasizing his commitment to helping others.
Rumors later surfaced suggesting that he had repossessed the car after a fallout. However, Dem Wa Facebook dismissed the claims, clarifying that she still had the vehicle and that Obinna was not the kind of person to take back gifts once given.
