Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has once again made headlines with his love life, this time expressing interest in dating Cera Imani, the ex-girlfriend of businessman Khalif Kairo. However, the youthful politician has set a personal milestone before pursuing hecompleting the construction of his house.
Salasya’s romantic aspirations came to light after he reacted to a video of Cera vacationing along Kenya’s coastline. The MP, known for his humor and candid nature, remarked that he would only be able to maintain Cera’s lifestyle once his house is finished. He also joked about remaining celibate until then.
In a recent statement, Salasya also opened up about his financial situation, revealing that after statutory deductions, his take-home salary is less than Ksh 20,000. Despite being a member of parliament, his financial limitations have played a role in shaping his romantic pursuits.
Past Romantic Interests
Salasya has previously expressed interest in dating socialite Huddah Monroe, a move that ended in a rather public rejection. In an attempt to win Huddah’s affection, he allegedly sent her Ksh 10,000 as a goodwill gesture. However, the beauty entrepreneur dismissed the amount, referring to it as “Chakula ya Kuku” (chicken feed), highlighting that she regularly receives much larger sums.
“This guy sent me Ksh 10,000, which I didn’t even notice because I do Ksh 50,000 giveaways. I’m not your typical girl. Find your own size. How could I notice Ksh 10,000 when people send me Ksh 2,200,000?” Huddah remarked on her Instagram stories.
Following the public rejection, Salasya distanced himself from the socialite, humorously declaring, “Mimi siezani. Wataangusha serikali. Afadhali nirudi kwa vienyeji yangu,” which loosely translates to, “I can’t handle them. They will bring down the government. I’d rather go back to my local women.”
Cera Imani’s Past Relationship
Cera Imani was previously in a relationship with businessman Khalif Kairo. The couple dated for several months before parting ways under unclear circumstances. Unlike Huddah, Cera has yet to respond to Salasya’s interest in her, leaving many wondering whether the MP’s latest romantic pursuit will be successful.

Salasya remains one of Kenya’s youngest politicians and is still unmarried. In the past, he had expressed interest in settling down with a teacher, stating that he preferred a partner who aligns with his values and lifestyle.
