Kenyan musician Stevo Simple Boy has made it clear that he will only take responsibility for his alleged child if a DNA test confirms he is the biological father. Otherwise, he plans to disassociate from the child’s mother, Grace.
In an interview with YouTuber Mungai Eve, Stevo stated that he is not currently interested in a romantic relationship and is focusing solely on his music and content creation. He also asserted that he does not believe the child is his, as Grace allegedly withheld news of her pregnancy from him.
“I am not the child’s father. Mtoto si wangu na sitaki mahusiano ya mapenzi sai. DNA ikitokea ni wangu, nitamlea lakini mama asepe. Mimi sitaki mapenzi kwa sasa ivi. Nafocus kwa content na mziki wangu,” Stevo said.
The musician, who recently acquired his first car but has yet to learn how to drive, recounted his past relationship with Grace. He revealed that they had been traditionally married for nearly four years. During this time, he introduced her to his family, especially during his father’s burial in 2023. However, despite their history together, Stevo claims that Grace confessed that she had feelings for another man, which led to his doubts about the child’s paternity.
According to Stevo, he only learned of Grace’s pregnancy when someone informed him that the child might not be his. “When I came back to Nairobi, Grace did not tell me she was pregnant. The kid is not involved with me since we have never been intimate. She told me she had feelings for another man,” he disclosed.
Stevo’s disappointment in the situation has led him to reconsider his views on marriage. He expressed that his dream of a committed union is now shattered due to the lack of respect for marriage vows he has encountered.
In a separate interview with YouTuber Trudy Kitui, Stevo recounted how he was informed about the pregnancy by a third party. “Tulikuwa sawa hapo mbele. We were living together. Then when she was about to give birth, someone called me and told me the truth,” he said.
Meanwhile, Stevo dismissed any talk about his ex-girlfriend, Pritty Vishy, stating that he prefers to leave the past behind. He remains focused on his music career as he awaits the DNA test results to determine the next step in his personal life.
