Weezdom has finally revealed the real reason behind his decision to stop managing Bahati, admitting it was due to his struggles with alcoholism. For a long time, he kept the truth under wraps, claiming he left to focus on personal growth. However, during a candid interview, the former gospel artist opened up about how addiction impacted his professional life and personal relationships.
Initially, many believed Weezdom’s departure from Bahati’s management was a strategic move to explore individual opportunities. In 2021, he announced the decision, and fans wished him well on his new path. Later, he ventured into secular music after EMB Records, the label owned by Bahati, was shut down.
But during the recent interview, Weezdom confessed that alcohol was the real reason he quit. He described himself as a former “hood guy” who not only drank heavily but also engaged in questionable behavior, including stealing. According to him, returning to drinking triggered a full relapse. He didn’t realize at the time that he was an addict, and with access to money and alcohol, things quickly spiraled out of control.
His alcoholism began interfering with his work responsibilities. He started missing critical events and meetings related to Bahati’s career. The situation deteriorated to the point where Bahati had to give him an ultimatum: choose between drinking or continuing as his manager.
Weezdom also shared how his drinking problem caused him to lose a job opportunity at Radio Citizen. He had begun co-hosting shows with media personality Willy M Tuva on Fridays and Saturdays, and even helped launch a program that still airs today. However, his addiction made it nearly impossible for him to remain consistent. He would wake up, start drinking by 7 AM, and by 11, he’d be too drunk to show up for his duties.
Despite all that, Weezdom expressed gratitude that he was given another chance to be part of the radio team years later. He thanked God for the opportunity and acknowledged how far he has come in his journey.
Reflecting on his past, he also mentioned how Bahati confronted him about the kind of company he was keeping, urging him to reconsider his choices. It was a wake-up call that pushed him to make a tough decision about his future.
On a different note, Weezdom also addressed matters of the heart, particularly his previous relationship with Mylee Staicey. She had recently appeared on a talk show where she discussed their relationship and accused him of lying about meeting a wealthy man at a concert. In response, Weezdom said he was grateful that they never had children together, especially since he’s already a father of five.
Reactions from fans have been mixed. Some were surprised by his transformation, noting how much he has changed, while others remained critical of his past actions and behavior. Nevertheless, his honesty and willingness to confront his past may mark a new chapter in his personal and professional life.
