Willis Raburu recently reflected on a past relationship during his time in university, recounting how he was deeply in love with a woman who later left him to pursue further studies abroad. He recalled how they would spend time together, even doing laundry at the ladies’ hostel. The media personality believed they were deeply intertwined, always together within the campus’s hostel regulations, which restricted visits before 10 am and after 10 pm. Despite his devotion, the relationship took a turn when she decided to leave for the United States to further her education.
Raburu also opened up about the emotional turmoil he faced, stating that his then-girlfriend put him through mental and emotional distress. According to him, she frequently belittled him, calling him a child. At the time, she was committed to her faith, and despite their closeness, their relationship remained purely platonic. Looking back, he admitted that he was deeply invested, not realizing that she may not have felt the same way.
Years later, she reached out to apologize for how she had treated him. By then, Raburu had moved on, though the experience remained a significant chapter in his life.
In contrast to that past relationship, Raburu is now in a happy and committed relationship with Ivy Namu. The couple first met while working together at a media company, where Raburu was hosting entertainment programs. Their connection grew over time, eventually leading to a serious relationship.
Together, they have built a family, welcoming two children. Their bond deepened when Raburu proposed to Namu in 2022 during their eldest child’s first birthday celebration. The proposal was a grand affair, featuring a special musical performance as a surprise element. At the time, Namu was expecting their second child, making the occasion even more memorable.
