British rapper and internet personality Yung Filly, real name Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, has pleaded not guilty to multiple sexual assault charges in Western Australia. The 28-year-old artist, known for his work with the YouTube collective Beta Squad and various UK television appearances, appeared before Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday to enter his plea.
Court documents reveal that Barrientos faces a total of eight charges, including three counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, one count of strangulation, and four counts of sexual penetration without consent. The alleged incidents occurred on 28 September 2024 in a hotel room in Hillarys, a coastal suburb of Perth, after Yung Filly had performed at a local venue. The complainant is reported to be a woman in her 20s.
The rapper has been out on bail since October 2024 following his arrest. His case has now been scheduled to be heard in the state’s higher district court on 13 June 2025.
Yung Filly, originally from Colombia but based in the UK, gained popularity through his comedic and musical content on YouTube. His collaborations with the Beta Squad have earned him a strong fanbase, and he has expanded his career into mainstream media, presenting shows on BBC Three and making guest appearances on popular UK programs such as Soccer Aid on ITV and The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer on Channel 4.
In addition to his online and television presence, Yung Filly has made a name for himself in the music industry. He was in Australia touring his music at the time of the alleged offences. His rising profile in entertainment was recognized when he won a MOBO Award for Best Media Personality in 2021.
The allegations against him have sent shockwaves through his fanbase and the entertainment industry. As the legal proceedings continue, Barrientos maintains his innocence. His trial in June will determine the next steps in what is expected to be a closely watched case.
Neither Yung Filly nor his representatives have made any public statements regarding the charges. The case is ongoing, and further developments are anticipated as the court date approaches.
