Zari Hassan and her husband, Shakib Cham, have reunited after experiencing tension in their relationship. Their reconciliation comes weeks after Shakib was accused of allegedly flirting with another woman.
Recently, Zari shared several videos spending time with her husband and flaunted a bouquet of flowers he gifted her. Expressing gratitude, she captioned the post, “For being a prayerful wife. Thanks, Babe.”
Earlier this month, a video surfaced on social media showing Shakib being unusually friendly with another woman. In the clip, he was seen sitting under a tree, holding hands, and laughing with an unidentified woman in what appeared to be an intimate moment.
As the video gained traction online, Shakib initially dismissed it as an old clip. However, Zari seemed taken aback by the footage and responded with a cryptic yet suggestive message on social media, stating: “Men will leave you in the desert with no water. If I introduce another in-law to you, don’t be surprised.”
Shortly after, Shakib took to social media to issue a public apology, clarifying his relationship with the woman in the video. He stated, “Me and that person are not dating; I just know them. I want to apologize publicly because my mistake went public. It wasn’t my intention to disrespect my wife, my family, or my friends.”
Tension between the couple has been brewing since last year when Zari’s ex-boyfriend and father of her children, Diamond Platnumz, visited her. Shakib reportedly disapproved of the visit, leading to conflicts between him and Zari. Addressing the situation, she explained that Diamond Platnumz has every right to see his children at her home.
She candidly spoke about the challenges in her marriage, saying, “My husband is very insecure, and that is causing a lot of problems. I have to explain everything. I had to go live just to prove a point.”
Expressing her frustration, she issued a stern warning, stating, “If my guy doesn’t want to recognize who I am, I will definitely find someone who will. I am worth so much more.”
Zari further addressed the way Shakib was handling their relationship, urging him to work on his insecurities. “Go fix yourself, the problem is not with me. Go fix your insecurities, bro.”
Despite previously defending Shakib against critics who called him “broke” or “not good enough,” she emphasized that she expected more from him. “I chose him, and I don’t care what people say, but he better change and recognize who I am.”
Zari and Shakib tied the knot in a private ceremony in Pretoria, South Africa, on April 16, 2023. They later celebrated with a glamorous all-white wedding in South Africa on October 3, 2023. As part of the wedding traditions, Zari requested a Quran as Mahr, a gift or promise of a gift from a husband to his wife. The elegant outdoor garden event took place in the evening and was attended by close family, Zari’s children, and a few co-stars from the reality show Young, Famous & African.
