Media personality Eric Latiff has announced his departure from the popular radio show The Situation Room after a transformative six-year journey. Latiff broke the news on his social media, reflecting on the show’s growth and expressing gratitude to those who contributed to its success.
“It has been a great journey building The Situation Room to what it has become, and we have many people to thank producers, marketing, commercial, technical, and other colleagues,” Latiff stated.
Dubbed “Kenya’s Biggest Conversations,” The Situation Room became a platform for thought leaders, professionals, and influential figures, providing in-depth discussions on pressing national issues. Latiff credited the show’s fans for its success, acknowledging the dedication of its diverse audience across radio, TV, and digital platforms.
“The biggest part of this show has been the audience,” he said. “It’s humbling when people reach out with compliments, comments, and suggestions.”
While Latiff did not disclose his next move, he hinted at his passion for pioneering new projects. “I love the thrill of creating and starting new things,” he shared, recounting his role in launching Kenya’s first 24-hour religious media house, Family FM and Family TV, as well as Kameme FM and K24 TV.

His profile rose further in 2024 when he conducted a landmark interview with President William Ruto at State House, following the June 25 protests.
Latiff’s exit from The Situation Room marks the end of an era but opens the door for new ventures. As he moves forward, fans and colleagues alike will undoubtedly watch closely to see what groundbreaking project he embarks on next.
