Labor Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua has announced a major job recruitment initiative under the Kazi Majuu program, aimed at providing overseas employment opportunities for Kenyans. The recruitment exercise will take place at Jesus Winner Ministry in Roysambu, Nairobi, on March 5 and March 6, 2025, from 8 AM to 5 PM.
This initiative aligns with President William Ruto’s promise to expand labor mobility and overseas job opportunities for Kenyan youth. In a statement on his social media platforms, CS Mutua emphasized the government’s commitment to securing meaningful employment for Kenyans while ensuring fair terms and conditions of work.
The recruitment drive will offer various job opportunities across multiple sectors. Among the key positions available are nursing jobs for degree holders, with placements in Germany, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Dubai, and Australia. Additionally, drivers with valid licenses particularly those with previous Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) experience are encouraged to apply for positions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), along with delivery riders.
Other job openings include roles in the hospitality industry such as waiters, waitresses, stewards, and chefs. There are also vacancies in the construction sector for masons, carpenters, scaffolders, electricians, plumbers, and construction helpers. Furthermore, opportunities are available for seafarers and cruise ship workers.
Successful applicants will benefit from an array of government support services. CS Mutua assured that passports would be processed within one to two days for those selected. Additionally, financial assistance will be provided for candidates unable to afford processing fees, visas, medical tests, and travel expenses. Certain jobs will also include accommodation, insurance, transport, and overtime pay.
This recruitment initiative follows an appeal from Pentecostal Bishop Edward Mwai of Jesus Winner Ministry, who requested President Ruto’s assistance in securing overseas jobs for members of his congregation. Bishop Mwai highlighted that many members of the church had studied foreign languages such as German and French, making them ideal candidates for international employment opportunities.
The Kazi Majuu program underscores the government’s dedication to addressing unemployment by facilitating access to well-structured and beneficial job opportunities abroad.
