Egypt’s leading electronics and home appliance manufacturer, Elaraby Group, has officially established a new branch in Nairobi, marking its first physical footprint in Kenya. This strategic move underscores the company’s commitment to tapping into the rapidly growing East African market, where demand for high-quality electronics and home appliances continues to rise.
The new Nairobi office is set to serve as a regional hub for distribution, sales, and after-sales services. This expansion aligns with Elaraby Group’s broader ambition to enhance its presence across Africa by leveraging Nairobi’s strategic geographic and economic position. Kenya, with its well-developed infrastructure and access to global markets through key ports and trade agreements, presents an attractive gateway for international companies eyeing the region.
During the official launch, Egyptian Deputy Ambassador to Kenya, Mostafa Saad, highlighted the role of growing bilateral trade relations between Egypt and Kenya in facilitating such investments. He noted that regional integration efforts and favorable trade agreements between the two nations have been instrumental in paving the way for Elaraby’s entry into the Kenyan market.
Elaraby Group CEO, Medhat Mahmoud, emphasized Kenya’s dynamic and supportive business environment as a major factor behind the decision. “We are confident that Kenya offers the right mix of talent, infrastructure, and market potential. Our presence here will not only bring our products closer to consumers but also foster long-term business partnerships,” Mahmoud said.
The move is expected to create job opportunities for Kenyans and contribute to skills development in the electronics and appliance sectors. By establishing a local presence, Elaraby Group aims to deliver better customer service while also understanding and responding to the unique needs of the East African market.
The Nairobi office marks a new chapter in Egypt-Kenya trade relations, demonstrating the increasing importance of intra-African commerce and cooperation. As Elaraby Group sets up operations in Kenya, it also signals confidence in the country’s role as a commercial hub for the region.
