Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in various parts of the country on Tuesday to facilitate essential system maintenance and upgrades. The utility company confirmed that areas in seven counties Nairobi, Nandi, Elgeyo Marakwet, Trans Nzoia, Kisumu, Kirinyaga, and Kiambu will experience power outages at different times between 9 AM and 6 PM.
Affected Areas
Nairobi
Parts of Nairobi will face power interruptions from 9 AM to 5 PM. The affected areas include Kenya Water Institute, Akiba East, Akiba Court 3, Five Star East, Tabsera Academy, Memon East, Halai East, Bellevue School, Ruby East, Midlans Court East, Bandari Villas, St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, Masjid Bukhari Mosque, and Soledo Springs East, among others.
Other affected locations include State House Girls High School, Arboretum Road, Kolobot Road, part of Ring Road Westlands, Riverside Gardens, part of Riverside Drive, Prime Bank, SBM Bank, University of Nairobi Chiromo Campus, Dusit, Chiromo Funeral Parlour, and ICEA Lions on Waiyaki Way.
Nandi
Power interruptions in Nandi will occur from 9 AM to 6 PM, affecting areas such as Kapsasur Centre, Kapsasur Dispensary, Kaptabogen, Chebil, Henry Koskei Secondary, Kibukwo, Maraba, Taachasis, Meteitei, Tindiret, Mbogo Valley, and Soba River.
Elgeyo Marakwet
Residents in Kipsetan, Chesubet, Kamoi, Kibuga Centre, Kimwarer, Muskut, and Sego will experience outages from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Trans Nzoia
Areas such as Kaplamai Market, Motosiet, Sinoko, Cheptil, Kachibora, Kiptoi, Kapcherop State Lodge, Kamendi, Kipkeikei, Kapkarwa, Osorongai, and Yuya will have outages from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Kisumu
Affected locations in Kisumu include Arina East, Usotho, MTC Staff Houses, Obama East, Kibuye Market, and adjacent areas, with outages lasting from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Kirinyaga
Power cuts from 9 AM to 5 PM will affect parts of Makutano, Makawani Polytechnic, Kamweli Water Pump, PI Market, Sweetcorn Millers, Gathigiriri Prison Village, and surrounding areas.
Kiambu
Outages in Kiambu will impact Gachoroba, Zaweni, Kamondo Secondary, Mutuya, Nyagoti, Githiga, Gatitu, Gathaithi, Munjeme, Kiamachani, and Kiaibabu from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Kenya Power advises customers in the affected areas to plan accordingly and apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
