Kenya is set to host the prestigious World Chambers Forum (WCF) Africa Summit 2025, marking the first time this global event will be held on the African continent. The summit, themed “Africa’s Global Future: Integrated, Innovative, and Sustainable,” will take place at the Kenya International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi from April 9 to 11, 2025.
Organized by the World Chambers Federation (WCF) of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in collaboration with the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), the summit aims to explore collaborative opportunities on key economic issues affecting Africa and the world. The event is expected to serve as a platform for fostering regional integration, advancing sustainable business practices, and unlocking investment opportunities across the continent.
With participants from over 70 countries, including 500 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), 300 entrepreneurs, Heads of State, government officials, and global investors, the summit will focus on crucial areas such as boosting trade and investment, advancing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), and fostering global partnerships.
John Denton, Secretary General of the ICC, highlighted the significance of this inaugural African-hosted WCF summit, stating, “This is an opportunity to unite leaders from around the world to discuss and collaborate on key issues that affect our economies. We are confident that the discussions and outcomes will pave the way for meaningful progress and lasting impact.”
The summit is projected to generate substantial economic benefits, including over Ksh 1 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) commitments through trade and business partnerships. Additionally, Kenya’s tourism and hospitality industry is expected to gain a boost, with Nairobi positioning itself as a gateway to African cultural and economic exploration. The event will also empower 500 SMEs by providing access to global markets, funding opportunities, and mentorship programs to strengthen their role in value chains.
Key themes of the summit include regional integration, sustainability, youth and gender inclusion, and business collaborations through business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) engagements. KNCCI President Erick Rutto emphasized the summit’s role in positioning Africa as a global trade leader, stating, “By strengthening collaboration between governments, businesses, and chambers of commerce, we aim to drive innovation, enhance trade efficiency, and position Africa as a key player in the global economy.”
The World Chambers Forum Africa Summit 2025 is expected to set the stage for transformative partnerships and sustainable economic growth across the continent.
