Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced that on Tuesday, power interruptions will affect various regions in 12 counties from 8 am to 5 pm. The scheduled power outages are part of the utility’s maintenance efforts aimed at enhancing the electricity system across the country. Below is a breakdown of the affected areas and their respective power interruption times.
Nairobi County
In Nairobi, power cuts will occur between 9 am and 5 pm in several areas. These include parts of Karen, Lang’ata Road, Light Academy, Fair Acres, and other surrounding areas. Additionally, parts of Nairobi such as Dandora, Gitari Marigu, and Margaret Kenyatta Hospital will also experience power interruptions within the same timeframe.
West Pokot County
West Pokot will face power disruptions from 9 am to 5 pm. Affected areas include Karas, Kapkoris, and Chepareria, among others. The interruption will be part of a planned maintenance to improve the reliability of the electricity system.
Uasin Gishu County
In Uasin Gishu, power will be cut from 9 am to 4 pm. Areas like Outspan, Ancila, Bethel, and Rehema are among those that will be affected by the scheduled interruption.
Nandi County
Nandi County will experience power cuts from 9:30 am to 5 pm in locations such as Yala, Kaimosi, and Chepkumia.
Kakamega County
Residents in Kakamega, including Musoli Market, Bukura College, and Sigalagala Tech, will experience power interruptions from 9 am to 5 pm.
Homa Bay County
Power will be interrupted in Homa Bay from 9 am to 4 pm. Areas affected include Oyugis Town, Gamba Market, and Nyabola Girls, among others.
Meru County
In Meru, areas like Muthara Market, Kangeta Market, and Maua Town will face power outages from 8 am to 5 pm. Other locations, including Meru National Park and Njoune, will also be affected.
Laikipia County
Laikipia residents in areas such as Colour Crops and Sirimon will experience power cuts from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Nyeri County
Power interruptions in Nyeri will occur from 9 am to 5 pm, affecting areas such as Kiamabara Market and Matira-Ini Village.
Murang’a County
Murang’a will experience power interruptions from 9 am to 5 pm, affecting Kenol Town, Kilele Mall, and the nearby areas.
Kilifi County
Kilifi will have power cuts from 9 am to 3 pm, affecting parts of Mwatate Town and Kenyatta High School.
Mombasa County
Mombasa will also be affected by power interruptions between 9 am and 3 pm. Key areas include State House, Fort Jesus, and Mombasa Hospital.
