Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced scheduled power interruptions in 11 counties on Thursday to facilitate system maintenance. The affected counties include Nairobi, Meru, Kakamega, Embu, Homa Bay, Kilifi, Uasin Gishu, Turkana, Makueni, Kiambu, and Mombasa.
The power cuts will take place at different times between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., impacting residential areas, businesses, schools, and essential service providers.
Nairobi residents in Forest Road, KICD, Jubilee House, Pangani Shopping Centre, and surrounding areas will experience outages from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Other affected areas include parts of Mogotio, Muthithi Road, and Wambugu Ojijo Road.
In Kiambu, locations such as Magajo Primary, Munyu Girls, and Juja Farm will have disruptions from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In Mombasa, areas around Danka Petrol Station, Uwanja wa Ndege, Hakika Maize Mill, and Kasemeni will face power cuts during the same period.
Kilifi will experience similar disruptions in the same locations as Mombasa.
Makueni residents in Maiani Market, Enzai, Mukaa, and surrounding areas will be affected from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Uasin Gishu will have power interruptions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in areas such as Maranatha and St. Jude.
In Turkana, residents of Lokichar, Kakong, Kalemngorok, and other areas will face power outages from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Kakamega will experience power cuts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Malava Market, Kambi Mwanza, and surrounding areas.
Homa Bay will have interruptions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., affecting locations such as Starige Hotel and Makongeni.
Embu and Meru will also experience power cuts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in various towns and business centers.
KPLC has urged residents and businesses in affected areas to make necessary arrangements to minimize inconveniences during the maintenance period.
