Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced planned power interruptions in 10 counties on Tuesday to facilitate routine maintenance and system upgrades. The affected counties include Nairobi, Nyandarua, Nandi, Tharaka Nithi, Kiambu, Vihiga, Laikipia, Meru, Mombasa, and Kilifi.
The scheduled power outages will occur at different times, ranging between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, depending on the location. KPLC has urged affected customers to prepare accordingly and expressed its commitment to restoring supply promptly once maintenance activities are completed.
Nairobi: In Nairobi, power will be interrupted in various locations from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including Githurai 45, Kimbo, Co-op Bank, Naivas, Mwiki School, Farmers Choice, parts of Clay City, Pipeline Estate, Quick Mart Supermarket, and Lavington areas such as Gitanga Road, British High Commission, and Valley Arcade Shopping Centre.
Nyandarua: Residents in Murungaru, Turasha, Memo, Engineer Town, Njabini, Sasumua Dam, and Kinamba will experience outages from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Nandi: From 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, power will be disrupted in Cheptabach, Kibukwo, Kabirer, Maraba, Senetwo, Songhor, Soba River, Tachasis, and Tinderet areas.
Vihiga: Power interruptions in Vihiga will affect Luanda Market, Ebwiranyi, Mukhalakhala, Epang’a, and Radio Anyole, among other locations, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Tharaka Nithi: Between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM, power will be cut in Chera Market, Ikawa Secondary, Kanyuru Primary School, and Nyagakairu Primary School.
Laikipia: Olpejeta, Depatas, Tundra, Freshigold, Segera, and Zimbabwe areas will experience power cuts from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Meru: Residents in Kianjai Market, Ngundune Market, Tigania Mission Hospital, and surrounding areas will be affected from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Kiambu: Parts of Kiambu, including KIST, Thindigua, and Eden Ville, will experience disruptions from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Mombasa: Power outages from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM will affect Coast Calcium, Waa Girls, and Shonda Maweni.
Kilifi: Affected areas include Pwani University, Ganze, Vitengeni, and Magogoni from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
KPLC advises customers to take necessary precautions during the outage period and apologizes for any inconveniences caused by the maintenance work.
