Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has announced scheduled power interruptions on Tuesday, affecting various areas across six counties. The planned outages, set to occur between 9am and 5pm, are part of ongoing maintenance works aimed at enhancing the reliability and efficiency of the electricity supply network.
The affected counties include Nairobi, Uasin Gishu, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Murang’a, and Mombasa, with specific locations within each county set to experience temporary blackouts.
In Nairobi, the areas set to be impacted from 9am to 5pm include King of Judah Church, Bimz Beauty College, Swaminarayan Academy, and surrounding customers. Other affected neighborhoods include parts of Githurai 44, Zimmerman, and adjacent areas.
Uasin Gishu County will see a wider blackout window, from 8am to 5pm. Affected locations include Mugunga, Sipande, Mlimani, Pan Paper, Luanda Lugari, Munge, KMTC, and Mbogo, along with nearby areas. Other spots such as Langas Corner, Ndupawa, Relax Inn, Jijenge Quarry, and Starbucks Hotel will also be without electricity.
In Kisumu County, power will be interrupted between 9am and 3pm in Sondu, Nyabondo, Chebera, and Nyakach Girls.
Homa Bay County will face power disruptions from 9am to 4pm, affecting key areas like Kendubay Market, Ayub Akoko Primary, Kanyandhiang Market, Nyangacho Secondary, Dago Market, and several others including Gendia Hospital and Homahills.
Residents of Murang’a County will experience outages from 9am to 5pm in locations such as Maragwa Level 5 Hospital, Equitorial Nut Processors, Pioneer School, Kaharati Market, and Murang’a School for the Deaf, among others.
Lastly, in Mombasa County, power will be off from 9am to 5pm in Wayani, Mombasa International Airport, Mbaraki, Aga Khan Hospital, Shenai Restaurant, and parts of Kizingo.
KPLC urges customers to prepare accordingly and apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
