The National Youth Service (NYS) has unveiled 50 job opportunities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its graduates, targeting skilled fabricators with qualifications in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
A round of practical interviews is scheduled for April 4, 2025, at the NYS Engineering Institute, where successful candidates will be selected by a Dubai-based client for employment in the UAE. This initiative follows a previous round of interviews that saw NYS graduates successfully onboarded for similar roles.
To qualify, applicants must be NYS graduates with a diploma or trade certificate in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or a related field. Additionally, candidates must have between three to five years of hands-on fabrication experience, particularly in a manufacturing setting specializing in metalworking or machining. Strong communication skills in both verbal and written English are also essential, as candidates will need to collaborate effectively with their teams and interpret technical blueprints and drawings.
Successful candidates will be hired on a two-year renewable contract and will receive a basic salary of approximately Ksh 51,087. Their responsibilities will include designing, developing, and implementing fabrication processes, as well as creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation. Additionally, they will be required to read and interpret blueprints, measure and cut steel bars, bend and shape materials using hand tools and machines, secure steel bars in concrete forms, and install steel structures per safety standards.
The hiring company will cover key employment benefits, including an employment visa, a resident permit, accommodation, transport, uniforms, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs). Medical insurance, group life insurance, and employer liability coverage will also be provided. Furthermore, employees will receive a round-trip air ticket every two years, while the first-time air ticket from Kenya to the UAE will be facilitated by the agent.
Interested candidates who meet the qualifications are encouraged to apply by filling out the application form via the link: https://forms.gle/Yo8ViztUm8FB9LN5A. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for the practical interview session at the NYS Engineering Institute on April 4, 2025.
