The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced 256 job openings in various government departments, offering a wide range of opportunities for qualified individuals. In a notice published in Tuesday’s edition of My Gov, the commission outlined the vacancies and invited interested candidates to apply online via the commission’s website.
Job Opportunities Available
In the National Treasury, the PSC seeks to recruit two senior deputy directors, eight deputy directors, and five assistant directors specializing in macro and fiscal policy. Similarly, the State Department of Economic Planning is looking to fill senior roles, including a Director General in economic planning, a secretary for economic planning, and a secretary for economic planning development and policy.
The Immigration Services department has two positions available: secretary for integrated population registration services and secretary for civil registration services. Meanwhile, the Department of Correctional Services has 24 vacancies, including eight directors of probation, three deputy directors, and 13 assistant directors.
Positions in Other Key Departments
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is seeking to hire a Director General in foreign affairs (political and diplomatic affairs), a secretary for foreign service management, and 20 deputy director generals of foreign service management.
In Broadcast and Telecommunication, available positions include secretary for information and broadcasting, secretary for public communication, and secretary for telecommunication and postal services.
The Wildlife Department has openings for a director and four assistant directors in wildlife policy and strategy, as well as two assistant directors in wildlife services. Additionally, the Blue Economy and Fisheries State Department is recruiting two secretaries for fisheries and blue economy, along with two director government clearing services positions in shipping and maritime affairs.
Application Process and Deadline
Applicants must submit their applications online via the PSC’s website (www.publicservice.go.ke) or the jobs portal (www.psckjobs.go.ke). The deadline for applications is April 22, 2025, at 5 PM.
The PSC has also issued a warning against fraudsters posing as staff and soliciting bribes, emphasizing that the commission does not charge any fees for job applications, shortlisting, interviews, or appointments.
