Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accompanied by his wife Pastor Dorcas, joined mourners in Embu County on Thursday to bid farewell to Eric Mutugi Kivuti, the late son of former Senator Lenny Kivuti. The solemn event took place in Kanyuambora, Mbeere North Sub-county, where family, friends, and residents gathered to celebrate Eric’s life and support the grieving family.
Eric passed away in December 2024 at MP Shah Hospital after a brief illness. Former Senator Kivuti, deeply shaken by the loss, announced the news on social media, expressing profound grief. “I am very sad. Very sad! I lost my beloved son, Eric Mutugi, at MP Shah Hospital yesterday after a short illness. We canceled our family Christmas festivities. Please join my family in funeral plans for my beloved son. God bless his soul in heaven,” Kivuti shared on Facebook.
During the funeral service, Deputy President Gachagua conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the Kivuti family and the people of Embu. “My spouse Pastor Dorcas and I join friends, mourners, and the people of Kenya to bid farewell to Eric Mutugi Kivuti, son to former Senator Lenny Kivuti,” he said. “My thoughts and prayers are with the family and the people of Embu. Fare thee well, Eric.”
