During the 2024 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Shanghai, Zhao Dong, Vice President of Huawei’s Wireless Network Product Line and Chief Marketing Officer, unveiled the AI Network Opening Plan. This ambitious initiative is designed to enhance network productivity on a global scale by fostering a wireless intelligent ecosystem rooted in co-creation, co-existence, and co-growth.
The AI Network Opening Plan represents a significant leap forward in network productivity. Huawei aims to collaborate with global operators to build a comprehensive and efficient wireless intelligent ecosystem. This ecosystem will leverage cutting-edge AI technologies to optimize network performance, reduce operational costs, and deliver superior user experiences.
In the first phase of the plan, Huawei is set to empower 1,000 site engineers within just six months. These engineers will be trained to manage over 10,000 network sites across five major cities: Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Bangkok, Jinan, and Shenzhen. This extensive coverage is designed to ensure that a significant portion of the population in these cities benefits from improved network services.
The choice of cities for the initial phase of the plan is strategic. Hangzhou and Guangzhou are leading economic hubs in China, known for their rapid technological advancements and high demand for superior network services. Bangkok, the vibrant capital of Thailand, represents a key market in Southeast Asia. Jinan, another major Chinese city, and Shenzhen, often dubbed China’s Silicon Valley, are crucial for their roles in innovation and technology.
The AI Network Opening Plan aims to establish a sustainable wireless intelligent ecosystem through the principles of co-creation, co-existence, and co-growth. Co-creation involves collaborative efforts with global operators and stakeholders to innovate and develop AI-driven network solutions. Co-existence emphasizes the integration and harmonization of these solutions within existing network infrastructures. Co-growth focuses on the mutual benefits and shared growth opportunities for all parties involved.
