Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula, along with his two wives and others implicated, are poised to be released from custody following a significant development in their Sh122 million fraud case. Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Renson Ingonga announced his decision not to pursue the six-year-old case, citing findings that the contracts in question were legally binding with his seven companies.
The case had alleged misappropriation of public funds intended for development projects in Kakamega County. After completing investigations, the DPP concluded that the contracts involved were legitimate and did not warrant further prosecution.
