In a heartbreaking turn of events, the promising life of Joseph Mwadulo came to an abrupt end on March 31, 2024. The bus journey home from Chavakali High School turned tragic when it overturned at the Mamboleo roundabout in Kisumu County, claiming Joseph’s life along with other students.
Mary Wangari Gioche, better known as Kareh B, renowned Mugithi singer and grieving mother, is channelling her pain into purpose. She’s on the brink of launching the Dulo Foundation, a tribute to her beloved son.
Through social media snippets, Kareh B offers glimpses into the foundation’s mission: to uplift the youth in every aspect of their lives. But it doesn’t stop there. The foundation aims to provide solace to parents grappling with the unimaginable loss of their children.
“I am working on the logo for #dulofoundation. We will focus on the overall well-being of youth, that is, physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, etc. Not forgetting grieving parents, fathers, and mothers. I know this won’t be easy…” Kareh B shares, accompanied by a poignant image of the foundation’s logo in progress.
It’s a venture fueled by love and loss, as Kareh B seeks divine guidance in bringing this vision to fruition.
This initiative emerges just two months after the devastating loss of Joseph, a bright Form Four student. The funeral rites, held on April 12, brought together a community in mourning. From the Kenyatta University Mortuary to the serene grounds of Kimangaru, Embu County, friends, family, and fellow students paid their final respects to the young soul gone too soon.
Among the attendees were prominent figures, a testament to Joseph’s life’s impact on those around him. As Kareh B embarks on this journey, her son’s memory lives on, inspiring hope in adversity.
