A security guard was found dead with deep cuts on his forehead and the back of his head at a construction yard in Nairobi. Police confirmed that Joshua Thuku, aged 35, was on duty at the time of his murder. His lifeless body was discovered on Thursday morning long after he had been killed.
A colleague had arrived to relieve Thuku and found him unresponsive in his sentry box. The reliever knocked on the gate several times with no response. Upon gaining access to the premises with the help of other colleagues, they found Thuku lying motionless on his bed inside the sentry box. The gruesome injuries on his body suggested a violent attack. Despite no signs of theft no items were stolen from the premises the guard had been brutally attacked.
Police are yet to determine the motive behind the murder, and no arrests have been made as of now. The body of the deceased was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and further investigations.

In a third case within Siaya County, the body of a male adult, John Oduor Waindiha, was discovered floating in the Nzoia River at Ahawagaya village in Sumba sub-location.
