Cabinet nominee Geoffrey Ruku has extended a warm welcome to President William Ruto, inviting him to visit Mt. Kenya and witness the development strides made in the region under the Kenya Kwanza administration. Speaking in Siakago Town, Ruku underscored the transformative progress in Mbeere North constituency, attributing it to the government’s commitment to development and service delivery.
Ruku, who was recently nominated to head the Public Service docket in a mini Cabinet reshuffle, expressed gratitude to President Ruto for the opportunity to serve in a more significant capacity. His nomination came after the dismissal of Justin Muturi from the role, signaling the President’s intent to restructure his administration for greater efficiency.
During his address, Ruku emphasized several key projects that have contributed to the constituency’s growth. Among them is the construction of 80 Junior Secondary School (JSS) classrooms, which have significantly bolstered the education sector in the region. Additionally, he highlighted the Kamata and Kanyuambora irrigation projects, which have boosted agricultural productivity and improved local livelihoods.
Further developments include the expansion of rural electrification programs, which have enhanced access to electricity in remote areas, fostering economic growth and better living standards. The Imarisha Elimu initiative has also played a crucial role in upgrading school infrastructure, ensuring that students learn in a conducive environment.
Elder Njeru Kavici, a respected community leader, echoed Ruku’s sentiments, extending an open invitation to President Ruto to visit Mbeere North at any time. Kavici reaffirmed the community’s strong support for Ruku’s nomination and the broader Kenya Kwanza agenda, emphasizing the positive impact of the government’s policies on local development.
President Ruto’s expected visit to the region will not only serve as an inspection tour but also provide an opportunity to launch additional projects that align with the administration’s development blueprint. Ruku’s elevation to the Public Service docket is seen as a strategic move to further reinforce government initiatives, particularly in streamlining public service delivery.
As anticipation builds for the President’s visit, residents of Mbeere North remain optimistic that continued collaboration with the national government will bring even more development opportunities to the region.
