Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has called upon residents of Kajiado County to uphold peace and unity, emphasizing the need for harmonious coexistence in the cosmopolitan region. During an impromptu roadside address in Kiserian town, Gachagua urged the locals to embrace one another as brothers and sisters, foster business partnerships, and encourage intermarriages to promote cohesion.
“Kajiado is a cosmopolitan area. I ask you to live as brothers and sisters; do business together, intermarry, and let everyone feel at home,” he stated while addressing the gathered crowd from the rooftop of his vehicle.
Gachagua’s stop in Kiserian came after he enjoyed a meal in the town, a moment he used to interact with the residents. Accompanied by Kiambu Senator Karungo Thang’wa and Kajiado Senator Seki Lenku, he reinforced his message of peace and togetherness.
Beyond his call for peace, Gachagua took the opportunity to reveal his political ambitions. He announced that he would be launching a new political party in May, one that he believes will reshape the political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We have decided to have our political party, and Kajiado people will lead the party. We will announce the party in May. We will have candidates for all the seats, from President all the way to MCA,” he declared.
Gachagua expressed confidence that his new political outfit would pose a significant challenge to the dominant parties in the country. He dismissed his competitors, asserting that his party would enjoy overwhelming support from the Mt. Kenya region, leaving little room for serious opposition at the polls.
Senator Karungo Thang’wa echoed Gachagua’s sentiments, expressing optimism about their political movement.
“We are telling them that Kenyans have decided. Let us support Gachagua,” he remarked.
Similarly, Senator Seki Lenku affirmed his commitment to Gachagua’s cause, stating that he would not be intimidated for his political stand.
“I want to say I will not be intimidated, and I will not be swayed. I will stand with the truth and justice,” Lenku declared.
As the 2027 elections approach, Gachagua’s announcement signals a shift in Kenya’s political dynamics, setting the stage for a competitive political showdown.
