Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has declared that President William Ruto and his allies will visit the Mt Kenya region regardless of opposition from critics, emphasizing that the region played a key role in electing the Kenya Kwanza government.
Speaking during a bursary issuance event at Wareng High School in Eldoret, Sudi dismissed claims that some leaders were attempting to block government officials from engaging with Mt Kenya residents. He accused opposition leaders of fueling tribal politics and misleading the public about Ruto’s administration.
“Mt Kenya people are the ones who created this government, and we are telling the critics that we are now coming whether they like it or not,” Sudi stated. He reiterated that no one could prevent government leaders from visiting and serving the region, stressing that Mt Kenya deserves equal treatment as any other part of Kenya.
Gatundu North MP Njoroge Kuroria, who was present at the event, echoed Sudi’s sentiments. Kuroria stated that President Ruto governs the entire nation, including Mt Kenya, and does not require permission to visit any region.
“Ruto is the president of Kenya, including the Mt Kenya region. We will all welcome him to Mt Kenya as our president, and he doesn’t need to ask anyone before coming to the region,” said Kuroria. He added that while opposition leaders have the right to engage in politics, Ruto is focused on delivering services to the people.
Sudi further criticized tribal politics, saying that some leaders were ejected from government because of their divisive tactics. He warned that such politics hinder national unity and development.
In addition to political remarks, Sudi highlighted the increased allocation of bursary funds in his constituency. He announced that over KSh 37 million had been disbursed this year, reinforcing his commitment to supporting education. He urged the youth to prioritize education and avoid substance abuse.
“As young people, if you want to succeed in life, then focus on learning and avoid abusing drugs and alcohol, which will ruin your lives,” Sudi advised.
The remarks come amid ongoing political debates regarding President Ruto’s engagement with Mt Kenya leaders and residents.
