Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has called on leaders and residents from the Central Region to focus on development rather than engage in divisive politics. Speaking at Kibingoti Market in Ndia Constituency, where he was accompanied by Ndia Member of Parliament, Kindiki expressed his concern over the rising trend of destruction of properties due to political divisions in the region.
In a heartfelt address, the Deputy President noted that for the first time, he had witnessed the worrying spectacle of people from the Central Region damaging other people’s properties because of political differences. Kindiki expressed his frustration, calling on the people to rise above such acts and prioritize the well-being of the region through unity and development.
During his visit, Kindiki carried out an impromptu inspection of the economic stimulus projects in Kirinyaga, where he commissioned the newly constructed access roads leading to Kiine Girls High School. This infrastructure project, which is part of the larger Kenol-Marua dual carriageway initiative, is aimed at enhancing connectivity and driving development in the area. The Deputy President emphasized that these projects are essential in improving the region’s economy and standard of living for its residents.
Kindiki also highlighted the importance of focusing on the promises made by the Kenya Kwanza administration, stressing that the government’s priority is to deliver on its commitments to the people. He urged Central Region leaders to set aside personal political differences and work together towards the common goal of advancing the region.
In his speech, Kindiki paid tribute to Kenya’s third President, Mwai Kibaki, and the fourth President, Uhuru Kenyatta, for their leadership and focus on development without resorting to divisive politics. He reminded the residents that political challenges would be addressed in due time, but the focus should remain on development for the good of the people.
Kindiki’s call for unity and development echoes the sentiments of a nation looking to move forward, putting aside politics in favor of progress and prosperity for all.
