Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has urged Kenyans to be cautious of politicians who criticize the government without offering tangible solutions to the country’s challenges. Speaking on Friday during a meeting with grassroots leaders from Embu, Meru, and Tharaka Nithi counties, Kindiki emphasized that Kenya is on the right path and should not be derailed by negative politics.
“We are on the right track. Don’t be deceived by people who have no touch with reality, don’t be deceived by people who are not giving solutions to the difficulties the people of Kenya are facing,” he stated.
Kindiki described such leaders as “evil-minded,” accusing them of seeking personal gain rather than the welfare of ordinary citizens. He noted that even if he were not the Deputy President, he would still support the government’s development agenda, as it is in the best interest of the people.
“I want to urge you not to fall into the tricks of evil-minded politicians. An evil-minded politician is the one who wants to spoil for mwananchi when they realize they are not benefiting,” he remarked.
Kindiki reiterated that the Kenya Kwanza administration, led by President William Ruto, has made significant strides in streamlining the country’s economic framework over the last two years. He assured that the government remains committed to ensuring economic prosperity, particularly in agriculture, livestock production, and job creation.
“We have done the best we could in the last two years, and in the next two years, we are going to work round the clock to make sure we turn around our agricultural production, livestock production, and businesses. We will bring more jobs and create more incomes for as many Kenyans as possible,” he said.
He underscored that counties such as Tharaka Nithi, Embu, and Meru would be central to these economic plans. He called on residents to unite and work with their leaders, avoiding divisions that could hinder development.
Kindiki urged leaders and citizens to embrace a “coalition for development” rather than engaging in political conflicts that slow progress. He reassured Kenyans that the government is focused on putting more money in people’s pockets and improving livelihoods before the 2027 elections.
As the country continues facing economic hurdles, Kindiki’s message signals the administration’s determination to implement policies aimed at fostering growth. However, it remains to be seen whether these promises will translate into tangible results in the coming years.
